Cancun
Cancun by far is the most popular resort destination in Mexico. You would find that majority of the resorts here are luxury, four star and five star resorts.
Resort rooms here offer a great view and come equipped with a king-sized bed, air conditioning, and plasma TV. Fun activities that are available here include archaeological site visits, and eco-tourism tours.
Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta holds the distinction of being the second most visited resorts area in the country. It is also popular to both locals and foreign tourists alike. Puerto Vallarta’s appeal partly lies in its location, it being nestled at the foot of Sierra Mountains and fronting the sea.
Adventure tours are highly recommended activities that you can do while here.
Acapulco
Acapulco in its heyday had some of the best resorts in Mexico. It reached its peak during the 60s and 70s, but saw its appeal decline beginning in the 80s up to the 90s.
Today, however Acapulco is undergoing a transformation and is aiming to regain its former glory. Acapulco has two distinct areas, namely Punta Diamante or Diamond Point and the “old town,” which formerly was a favourite destination of the rich and famous.
Los Cabos
Los Cabos boasts of a pleasant climate, top notch facilities, and impressive golf courses. It is also highly popular among American tourists and vacationers.
The area has two main sections, which are the towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Corredor (Corridor), the strip that connects the two towns, is lined with some of the best luxury resort hotels in Mexico.
